SME leaders 'hail Cameron as hero'

Nearly two in five SME employers claim that they are overburdened by 'red tape'.Nearly 40 per cent of accountants complained about their administrative burden to a KashFlow.co.uk survey and claimed it was the biggest barrier to SME growth.
The small business bookkeeping software company adds that many saw Conservative leader David Cameron as the answer to 'red tape', hailing him a small business hero.
KashFlow.co.uk claims that small business leaders are increasingly burdened by new employment legislation, such as the Age Discrimination Act, and are spending an increasing amount of time learning how to ensure their business is compliant.
Commenting on the survey, managing director of www.KashFlow.co.uk, Duane Jackson said: "The survey we commissioned has revealed that accountants believe small business owners have a really tough time of it trying to keep up with every change in legislation and red tape."
If elected, Mr Cameron has promised to opt-out of the European Union's Social Chapter; unburdening SMEs from the legal protection afforded to part-time workers and rights such as extended maternity leave for women.
Instead, the Conservative leader will encourage employers to 'be nice' to their workforce, aides told Nick Cohen from the Guardian.
