A free advice workshop for groups or individuals interested in starting a business or social enterprise will be held in Whitby next week, whitbytoday.co.uk reports.Enterprise advisors will be on hand as well as experts in employment law, funding and business planning. Moreover, support funds to be put towards development activities such as businesses or marketing planning or new equipment could well be available.
The event is being organised by the North Yorkshire Forum for Voluntary Organisations (NYFVO) in partnership with Business Link York and North Yorkshire and is particularly aimed at entrepreneurs whose ideas will be of benefit to their local community.
David Hassall, social enterprise team manager, commented that a developing social enterprise project which is funded by Yorkshire Forward and the Regional Development Fund has made the workshops possible.
He said: "It enables us to provide this free service for supporting community-based organisations that are keen to become more business-like in their operations, generating income and providing themselves with a better chance of survival to continue their good works for the community."
The advice workshop will be held at the Falsgrave Community Resource Centre in Scarborough on Monday 5th March, with more workshops are planned for later in the year.
