Businesses encouraged to 'go green'

A new investment readiness programme is been launched to help promote 'green' entrepreneurship, growingbusiness.co.uk reports.Aspiring companies seeking funds to aid the development of sustainable technologies - particularly those which tackle environmental issues and cut air pollution - are invited to attend a series of 12 interactive workshops.
Run by the investment fund E-Synergy and the Carbon Trust, the programme is looking to help ten companies become more appealing to investors.
The aim of the programme is to help businesses understand key areas such as intellectual property and licensing, valuation and deal structures and shareholder agreements so that they gain a better understanding of how potential investors view them.
Andrew Stevenson, chief executive of E-Synergy, commented: "We are delighted to announce this new collaboration with the Carbon Trust and look forward to working with companies keen to attract the investment funding needed to develop and commercialise their ideas."
The event, which begins in April, will conclude with the awarding of £5,000 to the most appealing company.
