Funding can 'make or break a business'

A workshop aimed at helping small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) gain a better understanding of business financing will be held in Bath next week.Hosted by Business Link, the event will demonstrate to attendees the benefits of obtaining sufficient funding for start-up projects, as well as drawing attention to all available monetary options.
Mike Stutter, business finance adviser at Business Link, points out that ten years ago difficulty in acquiring funds was a major obstacle in the path of business growth, according to research by Cambridge University, thisisbath.co.uk reports.
However, the research now shows that administrative restrictions are now considered to be more problematic than accessing finance.
Mr Stutter commented: "Securing the necessary finance makes or breaks a business. An injection of cash is often crucial to get a business idea off the ground.
"And as a business moves through its early years, additional funding is often required for new products and services which are crucial to business growth and profitability.
"With banks changing the way they lend to small businesses and more entrepreneurs seeking outside help from accountants or business support agencies, there is no denying that the determined entrepreneur can access the money they need."
The seminar will cost £30 per delegate and will be held on Tuesday 20th March at Carpenter House, bath, between 15:00 and 18:00.
