Mobile phone services 'too complex' for SMEs

Nearly one in three small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) has not reviewed their company mobile phone costs for over two years, a new report revealed.According to research published by T-Mobile, 36 per cent of SME managers also believe that their company is paying too much for their mobile communication products and services.
However, a quarter say that they struggle to make better choices because of they do not understand enough about mobile technology. Another fifth think that business price-plans are too complex for them to make effective decisions.
Derek Williamson, head of business marketing at T-Mobile UK explained to Cellular-News.com: "As with all costs that businesses face, mobile communications plans should be reviewed on a regular basis.
"However, as with many decisions relating to technology, it can seem a daunting process and is often delayed or even ignored despite the impact it can have on a business' bottom line."
T-Mobile's survey also revealed what mobile communications SMEs consider vital for their business. Nearly a quarter (24 per cent) thought that internet-enabled phones proved most popular, this was followed by Wi-Fi hotspots (21 per cent).
